The Moto Z is released today morning, bearing it's signature Moto Mods along.
Moto Z is the first modular smartphone offering from Motorola. The phone was first released in the US in June and after a three month period, it is finally available now in India for Rs 39,999.
Motorola also launched the Moto Z Play, the less powerful version of Moto Z, at Rs 24,999.
While Google closed down its plans for producing a truly modular Project Ara smartphone, Motorola went ahead with the plan by providing a 16-pin magnetic connector at the back of the phone to strap on modules knows as 'Moto Mods'.

There is a fingerprint scanner at the end of the display, but it doesn't work as the home button. There's also USB Type-C port for quick charging.
Both the phones has the ability to hot-swap modules that can add more features to the smartphone. For now, you get the Hasselblad TrueZoom camera that has 10X optical zoom, RAW format support and xenon flash; JBL SoundBoost speaker that enhances the sound output of the device; Incipio offGRID Power Pack that can add up to 20 hours of battery life; and a Moto-share Insta Projector that can project an image up to 70-inches from any angle.
The Hasselblad camera mod costs Rs 19,999 while the JBL SoundBoost speaker mod is priced at Rs 6,999 and the Moto-share Insta Projector comes for Rs 19,999. The Incipio offGRID power pack costs Rs 5,999.
